Situated on the Fitzroy River at Mt Elsa, Steven & Claire Farmer’s enterprise requires an expansive online presence to display stud sires, extensive female herds, and upcoming national bull sales.

Operating for several years as a high-capacity media and data hub, the platform seamlessly manages an extensive catalog database, detailed pedigree records, and high-definition livestock photography. Despite the sheer volume of assets and frequent sale updates, the platform continues to deliver a crisp, reliable user experience tailored for cattle buyers browsing on rural mobile networks.

  • Extensive Media & Database Assets: With dozens of sale categories, archived news posts, sire profiles, and media galleries, managing large databases and heavy photo libraries without slowing down page delivery requires robust optimization.

  • Dynamic Cattle Sale Catalogs: Providing up-to-date information on major events—such as the Droughtmaster National Bull Sale and Fitzroy Crossing Bull Sale—demands clean taxonomy structures so buyers can quickly find catalog PDFs and lot details.

  • Rural Network Performance: Buyers frequently access cattle galleries and sale lots from remote properties on variable mobile data. Ensuring fast initial paint times above the fold is critical for remote usability.

  • Evolving Technical SEO Standards: Maintaining top-tier search visibility across custom post types (Sires and Sale Animals) requires continuous schema alignment and server-level speed tuning.

To keep this massive cattle database running smoothly while preserving high-resolution visual quality, CodeX Visual Studio delivered a complete technical setup:

  • Database & Custom Taxonomy Architecture: Built custom post types and fields using Pods to neatly organize Sires, Sale Animals, and Semen for Sale, ensuring fast database queries across large datasets.
  • Image & Asset Streamlining: Implemented automatic WebP image conversion and optimised asset delivery to significantly reduce page sizes without compromising the clarity of stud livestock photography.
  • Server & Caching Optimisation: Configured server-level caching, optimised minification pipelines, and streamlined HTTP requests to keep initial server response times snappy.
  • Targeted Schema & On-Page SEO: Implemented custom local business and event schema markup to help Google index upcoming sale dates, regional locations, and stud genetics directly in search results.
